Gadget Inspector Summer Essentials
If, between cat videos and Twitter arguments, you've glanced out the window recently, you may have noticed that the outside world has a strange sort of brightness about it right now. We're told that this phenomenon is called 'British Summer Time' - an annual thing that tends to start around the same time as Wrestlemania and end just before Halloween.

Our sources indicated that many people use this so-called 'Summer' as an excuse to go outside and get drunk with their friends. This is news to us, but just in case you're planning to dust the Dorito powder off your hands and venture outdoors this summer, here are a few things that seem like they might come in handy:

Chill Out Wedge
Our boffins have observed that lots of people enjoy lying on the grass during summertime, perhaps with a book or a cocktail of some sort. If you intend to join them, we recommend using this comfortable suede wedge - after all, the grass is teeming with insects and parasites, and this brightly-coloured inflatable will go at least some way to protecting you from them. It's good for your posture, too.

The Selfy Stick
Many see summertime as a prime opportunity to take photos with their friends (probably because of the improved lighting). This extendable stick will increase the range of your camera, allowing you to fit more of your friends into the shot. Or, y'know, more empty space.

Red Beer Bong
We mentioned drinking, and while most are content to drink their beer from bottles or cans, we at Gadget Inspector know of a far more efficient way: the beer bong! This snazzy red number has a 2.5 pint capacity, and the incredible rate at which liquid flows through the device will allow you to finish your beer quickly and get back indoors where you belong.
Red and blue solo cups

The 2015 UK general election is mere weeks away, and the whole country seems to be getting terribly excited about it. Candidates are hitting the campaign trail, journalists are placing their bets, and everybody is tweeting like Kanye West just interrupted yet another acceptance speech.

However, we appreciate that not everybody can muster that level of excitement for politics. If a night in with David Dimbleby and Nick Robinson doesn't sound particularly thrilling to you, we've got the perfect solution: alcohol!

Yessir, there's nothing like a drink or five to make the election night go by that little bit faster. We've even got colour-coded drinking accessories for each of the five big parties - it's time to pick your side and support them by getting squiffy!

16oz Red Solo Cups
Red Solo Cups (Labour)
These bright red cups (which you may recognise from American Pie and countless other teen movies) are the perfect match for Ed Miliband's party. Of course, if your loyalties lay slightly further to the right, you may prefer...

16oz Blue Solo Cups
Blue Solo Cups (Conservatives)
...the royal blue version! Ideal for cheering David Cameron back into No. 10 while you get sloshed.

Bomber Jagerbomb Cup (Individual)
Yellow Jagerbomb Cups (Liberal Democrats)
Given the losses that experts have forecast for the Lib Dems come election day, Nick Clegg and his followers may well need something slightly stronger than beer when the results are finally announced. Jagermeister might do the trick, and this lovely yellow cup is exactly the right colour for LD supporters. If you live north of the border, it also works for the SNP.

Ultimate Purple Beer Bong (UK Independence Party)
Given Nigel Farage's fondness for being photographed with a beer in his hand, we're slightly surprised that we haven't yet seen him chugging a proper British ale through one of these beer bongs yet. It's even the right colours for UKIP.

Not a UKIP fan? Fear not - here's a beer bong that's slightly more suitable for left-wing drinkers! The Green manifesto is pretty tough on waste, mind, so make sure you don't spill any.

Of course, if you're more interested in the other kind of party, there are plenty of other apolitical items in our Party Essentials section. Happy drinking!
Superman alarm clock

Are you an avid comic book geek? Do you struggle to get out of bed on weekday mornings? Would you like to snazz up your home with a cool, retro-themed piece of pop culture merch?

If you answered 'Heck yeah!' to any or all of those questions, you may well be interested in our Superman Alarm Clock. Its bold blue design is very striking indeed, and the addition of the iconic red-and-yellow 'S' logo makes it stand out a mile.

Want one? Of course you do! And the good news is that you might just be able to win one in our latest competition. We've buddied up with Hyper Recruitment Solutions on Twitter, and we'll be giving away a Superman clock to one lucky winner this coming Friday.

Of course, you have to be in it to win it, so here's what to do:

The winter is coming to an end, and if you are anything like the Gadget Inspector team, you will be planning which sun-soaked country you'll be visiting for your summer holiday, planning your day trips to the beach, and eagerly watching the band announcements from your favourite festivals.

So imagine that you are at your favourite festival or your favourite beach with your best mates around you, and you have just taken the perfect selfie. You know, the one that everyone will see on Instagram and instantly be jealous of?

Then, suddenly, your phone battery dies and you can’t upload the picture until the end of the day...or worse, the end of the weekend!

We have all been in that situation, and that's why the Ultra Power Bank has made our Gadgets We Cannot Live Without This Summer list.

Ultra Power Bank

This super-powered battery charging device can fully charge your iPhone 5 times on one charge! This makes it super-useful for those days when you want to just lay by the sea, catching some rays.

If you are unlucky enough to have the battery die in your tablet and your smart phone at the same time, don’t fear - the power bank can charge up two devices at once! Maybe you can lend your charger to your friend if they get stuck (in return for a drink, of course!)

Hopefully you are now convinced that this is the gadget that you can’t imagine spending your summer without this year. The good news is you can buy the Ultra Power Bank today from Gadget Inspector for only £40.00, leaving you with a bit of extra cash for your summer plans!

#MakeASongBritish is currently trending on Twitter, with people from all over the UK putting a wonderfully British spin on all of your favourite hits. We couldn't resist getting involved - here are 8 of the best BritSongs we could come up with:

Beat It
1. Excuse Me, Sir, Could You Please Leave - Michael Jackson
Featuring a polite yet firm guitar solo from Eddie Van Halen.

2. I Will Always Love Queues - Whitney Houston
This could be the national anthem.

3. (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Drink Tea!) - Beastie Boys
Here's one we tweeted earlier...

4. All About That Boat Race - Meghan Trainor
There are plenty of songs about football, but not many about rowing. It's about time that changed.

5. A Rather Good Song, Though We Do Say So Ourselves - One Direction
'Best Song Ever'? You'd expect those 1D lads to be a little more modest - aren't they supposed to be British?

6. Do You Love Tea - The Contours
"Because, if not, then frankly I don't think this is going to work out."

M4 tweet
7. Stuck on the M4 with You - Stealers Wheel
This one assumes that you're driving towards Wales. Otherwise, Gloucester would be on the left.

8. Scone de Replay - Rihanna
If you didn't laugh, it's because you're pronouncing 'scone' wrong.
